Fall Oyster Crawl collage

Due to the pandemic, we will not be hosting our traditional Fall Oyster Crawl in 2020. However, several Trail wineries will be hosting their own oyster events on Nov. 14th and/or 15th.

Instead of crawling from winery to winery, we encourage visitors to make a reservation to spend the day at their favorite participating Trail winery to enjoy wine and oyster pairings. Several wineries may also feature live music.

Reservations may be required as seating will be limited due to social distancing requirements. We encourage you to check with participating wineries to learn more about their events, including hours and safety guidelines.

The following wineries are confirmed to be hosting an oyster-related event during the Crawl weekend (we will update this page as more wineries announce their plans):

Event: Oyster Celebration
Dates: Saturday, Nov. 14 from 12-6pm
Description: Oysters Cackalacky, Oysters on the Half Shell and Oysters Rockefeller by Denson’s. Live music by Hard to Tell.

Event: Oysters at Ditchley
Dates: Saturday, Nov. 14 from 1-5pm & Sunday, Nov. 15 from 11am-4pm
Description: Local Virginia oysters will be available on the half shell, roasted and fried. Oyster stew will also be available. Live music on Saturday from 1:30-4:30pm by the Legal Tender Trio.

Event: GRV WOMP (Wine, Oysters & Music Party)
Dates: Saturday, Nov. 14 from 12-6pm & Sunday, Nov. 15 from 12-5pm
Description: Oysters Rockefeller & Oysters with North Carolina Cackalacky Sauce by Jay’s Place. Live music on Saturday from 2-5pm by Ronnie Richards and on Sunday from 2-5pm by Dave “Smitty” Smith. The event and music will be primarily outdoors, weather permitting; however, there will also be indoor seating available.

Event: Plan on a Shelluva Good Time
Dates: Saturday, Nov. 14 from 11-6pm & Sunday, Nov. 15 from 12-5pm
Description: Featuring oyster dishes from Salty Bob’s food truck. Live music on Saturday from 2-5pm by The Windbags and on Sunday from 1-4pm by Cecil Charles. Glass and bottle sales only during event.

Event: Wine & Oysters at Ingleside
Dates: Saturday, Nov. 14 from 12-4pm & Sunday, Nov. 15 from 12-4pm
Description: Featuring oysters prepared on-site by Denson’s. A second day has been added on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Reservations info: Due to limited seating during COVID, reservations are required for this event and will be open to Ingleside Estate Club members only until Oct. 30. After Oct. 30, any remaining reservations will be open to the public.  Reservations may be made by calling the winery at 804.224.8687 during normal business hours (12-5pm daily).
