Special events are happening all weekend long on the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail, and some wineries are open Thursday and Monday, as well. Stay overnight at a Trail winery or local lodging and spend a mini-vacation with Mom!

LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE COOKING
Friday, Good Luck Cellars hosts Salty Bob’s, known for its oyster and seafood dishes. Saturday, feast on homestyle cooking from Mama’s Potluck, and Sunday, savor pizza and Italian dishes from Nino’s.
Gourmet Saturday at Ingleside Winery features a delicious lunch from Wild Olive & Fig, a mobile charcuterie bar and catering company, specializing in savory and sweet grazing. They will be onsite Sunday, too.
Sunday Brunch is at Ditchley Cider Works, with special items on the menu for Mom’s big day.
Jacey Vineyards is presently offering light fare: large charcuterie boards of cured meats, cheese, fruit, and more; cheese boards; warm King Pretzels; and, occasionally, oysters, handcrafted pizzas, and light specials.
The Dog and Oyster has unveiled a new menu to perfectly pair with its wines. From crab cake sandwiches and oyster po’ boy tacos to shareable boards, dips, and a lineup of both farm-raised and wild-caught oysters.
SIP (and SLURP)
A new twist on a traditional favorite: VINmosas (wine and orange juice) will be available Saturday at Good Luck Cellars. Sangria Sunday is on Mothers Day.
Seasonal wine slushies are back on the menu at Rivah Vineyards at the Grove.
Toast Mom with a flute of Champagne & Oyster or a Bloody Mary Oyster Shooter at The Dog and Oyster.
POP-UP & SHOP
What’s Mothers Day without flowers, sweets, and gifts? Good Luck Cellars (GLC) is hosting a Pop-Up on Saturday. Serenity Blossoms will offer bouquets of locally grown flowers. Classy Sassy Sweet Treats will feature homemade chocolate-covered strawberries and other goodies baked with love (also on Sunday.) TC Crafts’ wine/beverage tables, decorative tea towels, shadow boxes, and cork creations make great gifts for wine-loving mothers. Find Mom the perfect Mothers Day hat, handcrafted necklaces and unique driftwood gifts from Rivah & Stone Creations. GLC’s Gift Shop has wine-related items and branded merchandise, including apparel.

DANCE & SING
On Friday, put on your dancing shoes and learn some new moves at Good Luck Cellars’ dance class. Stay for the dance party with Hard To Tell. Saturday, groove to the sound of solo guitarist Larry Heatwole. Country singer Troy Breslow croons on Sunday.
The annual Mother’s Day event at Ingleside Vineyards features live music by Kelly Wright, performing a diverse selection of jazz standards, classic rock and contemporary pop.
PLAY GAMES
Is Mom a (board or yard) gamer? Rivah Vineyards has a variety of board games and yard games such as life-size chess, giant Jenga, jumbo Connect Four, corn hole and more!
EXPLORE, LEARN & POSE FOR SELFIES
A guided tour, as well as self-guided tours, of the historic grounds and farm at Ditchley Cider Works will take place on Sunday. Part of the recent Northern Neck Garden Tour, the cidery is blooming with colorful flowers, framing the perfect photo opp.
Located on the original farmland of the fifth U.S. president, Monroe Bay Winery is located just minutes from the James Monroe Birthplace & Boyhood Home historical site.
PETS
Moms and their furbabies can celebrate the holiday together on the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail. Most Trail members allow leashed and well-behaved pets in their outdoor seating areas. No pets of your own? Friendly rescue hounds of the Grape Vine Patrol Squad at Good Luck Cellars and serene farm animals at Ditchley Cider Works are happy to fill the void.
