Make a SplashYour Virginia Wine Country Adventure Starts Here |
Virginia ranks seventh in the nation for wine production. The Travel Industry Association (TIA) rates Virginia 8th for wine tourism and 15th for food-related travel. There are many reasons for the honors and now you can see for yourself.
Winemaking has taken off in Virginia due to modern techniques in grape growing and an appetite for great wine. With over 130 wineries, Virginia has a lot to offer, and the Chesapeake Bay Region has a unique variety of wineries and something special on the menu. Harvesting the bounty of our waters has been a longstanding tradition along the Chesapeake and there are many ways to enjoy our culinary treats.
From Rockfish to hard-shelled crabs we have restaurants, B&Bs and special events to celebrate our tasty heritage. What could be more exciting than to celebrate by pairing seafood with locally made wine. Crab feasts and Oyster roasts, there is plenty to go around, and, if you aren't a seafood lover, the menu goes beyond fresh food from our waters.
Stay a while and enjoy cooking classes, winemaker's dinners and a whole host of exciting opportunities in the Chesapeake Bay Region. Are you looking for a culinary adventure? Stay tuned - we can satisfy that craving for great wine and food.
